EVERY single instructor that taught me, truly showed they had a vested interest in my success, believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Whether it was explaining how something worked (Dave), putting a concept into simple understandable terms that I could understand (Kenny) or encouraging me and pushing me to make that trailer do what -I- wanted it to (Troy).
Every whistle, every “Stop!”, every “Get out of my truck!” and every “Listen man…” was given with the intent to convey knowledge. Showing their ability and strength as instructors.
Was everything perfect? No, nothing is. Yes, there were things I’d could suggest. But the positives FAR out weigh the negatives. So, if you are looking for Entry Level Driver Training, you can get that here. However, even more valuable than just knowledge, at RoadMaster Driving School of Jacksonville, you can get encouragement, support, start a new career and meet some amazing instructors and wonderful class mates.

Roadmaster was a great experience. They were very professional and kept us all safe during these trying times. Social distancing was enforced and minds were put at ease. The expectations of the students are very well known and Roadmaster instructors and administrators hold up their end fully. Be on time with willingness to learn and you will have a great experience. As for the instruction, there are a handful of expert drivers that have a way of relating to each student individually and adapting to each unique person. Matt was amazing and I credit him with preparing me for my exam and really teaching me the basics of maneuvering the truck and being able to know how it will move. Brian really taught some great techniques that only experience can bring and made it easy to understand. Royce showed us how to drive a truck on the road and every minute spent with that man was a pleasure. Thanks to these three I was more than prepared and confident and was able to pass my exam on the first try. Stan and Troy really care about the students and want all of us to succeed. NeShea was amazing at keeping us well informed and on the right path career wise. I would recommend this location to anyone seeking a CDL class A. -

I just graduated February 15 2023. Everyone in this world is a critic. We judge based on what we’ve experienced in life. Specifically with the school it’s been a good and wonderful experience; from how we’re taught to the way we’re treated. I personally never had any problems with management or the instructors. I established my own relationship with all the instructors. I followed directions, applied what I was taught and passed. I earned my Diploma and it wasn’t easy. I have to say when I first got here I was nervous, I never thought I was cut out for this trucker life but as the days pass I found myself wanting to learn more and more. Everybody there was cool. The instructors was good at there jobs they taught me how to really drive the truck. All the instructors was great Troy really helped me figure out how to passed the test. When I was struggling he took time out to break down and show me how to maneuver the truck. He stayed on top of me and made sure that I did what I had to do in order for me to get it. Without Troy I probably wouldn't have passed the final step. So I have to really thank him for his hard work and the effort he put forth. I thank Valerie for her help as well. This school is honestly the best. The instructors all have different ways to explain what your to do in the truck, but it's all the same concept. There big on safety, if there's a problem they will take care of it. Cassie just started she's the boss, she takes pride in her school and actually wants you to pass. She's big on respect and that's students and instructors included. You would think she's been here for a few years.The energy is great. I went to fscj before I came here. I wish I came here first I would of had my license months ago. I recommend this school they help you find a job, they really get you where you need to be and then the next phase. My State Examiner Shawn was also a great asset as nobody here wants you to fail ! I was extremely pleased with the training and staff. Rich was a great advisor to get me all signed up, the school manager Stan is awesome and the training supervisor and the instructors (Troy, Kevin, William, Charlie, Ray, Royce, Brian, Bob and Rob) will do everything they can to teach you what you need to get your CDL and pass the state exam. They also have tons of real world experience and will gladly share that with you. My advice to new students: It's up to you to succeed, the tools and knowledge are all there. Hang out with and talk to the positive students that are excited to be there, ignore the negative complainers (there will always be a few but most seem to come around after the first week). Road master was a great experience. I would recommend it to anybody looking to get their CDL. All the instructors have their own ways of helping you understand the concept of how your trailer and tractor operate. The instructor that stood out the most was TROY! that is the person you want to get with if you want to learn how to drive a truck! Troy helped me understand how to ally doc, so came test date, I nailed it!! He noticed I could park my truck but couldn’t correct my fixes. after I parked my truck he made me pull up to put my truck in a position to where I had to fix my problem and he walked me through the maneuver! My experience at Roadmaster was a good experience. All of the instructors were very informative and insightful and they had their own unique way of teaching. However, the instructor that stood out to me the most was Troy. The way he dissected the maneuvers gave me a better idea and understanding of how to execute it better. Personally, I thought of him as a mentor; he was always willing to help out with any problem that I had with maneuvers. And overall, he’s a really good person, he made my experience much more memorable. I’d highly recommend this facility, specifically Troy as an instructor there. -

I was hesitant about going here at first but it was a good thing I did. They really do get you out quick but fair warning, it is an accelerated school so the learning pace is all up to you. Don’t get mad if you fail your state test, speak up and say something if you feel you are not getting the training you need.All of the teachers are great at what they do. Ms T helped me C with pre trip, Mr Troy helped me get my alley dock down for sure, I’ll never forget the phrase “Drive the truck”. Quick helped me get the offset down with his boot camp method. I really enjoyed training for a new career here. Thank you to all of the instructors that put their time and effort in to helping me, and letting me make mistakes and learn from them. Now besides the training the companies you have available through roadmaster are not the best, at least for me. So i looked up other companies and i decided i'm going to go with Melton Truck Lines. they offer up to $10k tuition reimbursement, start new drivers at 0.46 cents a mile, and tarp pay is $100 because it is a flatbed company. Just a heads up 🙂

The way he broke the science to the maneuvers and he knows how to keep you encouraged to see it all the way through. The stand out ROAD instructor was James.
